McCormick, Columbia, SC I found him buried in Trinity Lutheran Church, Saluda Co, SC B. B. Waites Nov 6 1896 - Oct 7 1918 I have him as the son of Joseph William (Waites, Wates) Waits (1776 - 1958) and Ellen Minerva Bryan (1868 - 1919, but I have been unable to find her Death Certificate in SC index.) d/o Brantley Butler Bryan (1833 - 1873) and Catherine Elizabeth Witt (1839 - 1927). I have more on these families. I have never checked for Catherine Elizabeth Witt Bryan's DC, but I have her as the d/o John Martin Witt and Martha Aull. Clark, Aiken, SC buried: Philippi UT: Lott - Walker, Johnston, SC The following are buried together in Philippi Baptist Church, Edgefield Co, SC Clark, Frances Lenora [DERRICK] Nov 7 1849 - Dec 27 1888 [2nd wife of 1880?] Clark, Marina Jul 20 1877 - [Nov 1877] Clark, Marina Ann Jul 1 1848 - Jul 20 1877 [1st wife of 1870 Edgefield Dist Census] *Clark, M. W. Jan 24 1846 - Jan 4 1923 [Michael Watson] Clark, Mattie L. Sep 4 1862 - Sep 3 1930 [identified as 3rd wife by HC Ouzts.] I Michael's mother as Mary Satcher. She is found in the 1850 Edgefield Census, but not the 1860, so died between the two census records. From census date & listing of children in 1870 with William Clark, we can conclude that Mary Satcher d. ca 1856-1860? Possibly in childbirth or from complications of the birth of the youngest child Luthur. --------------------------------------------------- According to information sent to me, the following is the 3rd wife of Michael Watson Clark. 1930 - Death Cert. #14915, Aiken Co, SC Mrs. Mattie Clark Female, White, widow, age 67, no birthdate given, b. SC father: *T. Q. Cogburn, SC mother: Mrs. Quarles, SC d. Sept 3, 1930, Aiken, Aiken Co, SC cause: fractured left femur, upper 3rd (accident - Ridge Spring, at home, fell on floor; arterio sclerosis; myocarditis informant: None given buried: Philippi UT: Hallman & Crawford Funeral Home, Aiken, SC RE: her parents. *There were some other initials for the Cogburn that had been written in and struck out and the T. Q. written in. I have Mattie in the family of Lewellyn Robert Cogburn md Eunice Quarles and I confirmed a daughter Mattie in the hh from census records with the same ca birthdate. I have that she had a brother Thomas Cogburn b. ca 1872 [1880] . So here we have a conflict. However, when I ran a find for ALL Martha and Mattie Cogburns in my 1880 census CDs, the only Mattie that came up was d/o Lewellyn and Eunice Cogburn, Pickens twp, EC, p. 22C. Parrish, Batesburg, SC I do not know where this Mt. Pleasant is located. Any one know.
