Louis/Lewis Yonce md Balzora Sanders - Death Certficates transcribed from the microfilm of the originals. Microfilm located at Camden Archives and Museum, Camden, SC Billie Jones ---------------------------------------------------------- 1928 - Death Cert # 3372, Saluda Co, SC Mrs. Balyura Yonce Female, White, Md b. (1854 - very light and hard to read), Aiken Co, SC* father. Willie Sanders, Aiken Co, SC* mother: Rachel Brogdon, Aiken Co, SC* d. Jan 7, 1928, Saluda Co, SC (per index - original unreadable) chronic bronchitis; myocarditis informant: R. (?) Yonce, Ridge Springs, SC buried: (Mt. Calvary) UT: (W. B. Bush?), Ridge Springs, SC The information in ( ) was very light. *And there was NO Aiken Co. before 1870. Found she and Louis in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church which is now in Aiken Co, just below Johnston, so they were probably in Edgefield rather than Barnwell Co. at the time of Balyura/Balzury's birth, both areas giving a part of their land to Aiken Co, in 1870. Earlier census record would show that for sure, but I have not done that yet ---------------------------------------------------------- Husband of Belzora Sanders Yonce...... I almost never found him, until I checked the spelling YOUNCE which I had seen in census records before. That is how he was listed. Now this death information closely matches the Louis Yonce (Jan 1842 - May 28 1918) buried beside Belzora Sanders Yonce in the Mt. Calvary Cem. I would assume he is her husband. Problems occur however, in the date of birth (not unusual), date of death, and naming of "wife" as mother?? Informant may have named "his" mother in the emotions of the moment. Comments and other proofs are most welcome... 1918 - Death Cert. #12449, Aiken Co, SC Lewis Younce, M W Farmer no marital status marked b. May 25, 1834, Aiken Co, SC* father: Daniel Younce, Aiken Co, SC* mother: Belzuria Sanders, Aiken Co, SC* ??? d. June 1, 1918, Wards twp, Aiken Co, SC cause: Prostatitis informant: Lewis Yonce, Jr, Ridge Spring, SC buried: Mt. Calvary Lutheran UT: P. W. [Barnes/Banes?], Ridge Spring, SC I believe the birthdate is more in line with the 1842 on tombstone and in the 1900 census, as his sister Julia Ann was older in 1850 census and born July 29, 1839 per cem. records. He and his wife are found buried in Mt. Calvary Lutheran church, formerly in Edgefield Co, but now in Aiken Co, just across the line, south of Johnston.
