have read all the information that you all have written, and my interest has been excited. I have attached a copy of the 1880 census...that shows the Head of Household as David Scurry born in SC; also shows his wife Mary Scurry, born in Ireland....but the mystery is the Johnson family, who are my relatives. Roseta (should be Rosela) and Manda (should be Amanda) were Johnson sisters who married Waters brothers (James and William Monroe Waters) in Nicholls, GA, in the latter 1800's. I wonder now if these Johnson's could have been relatives of the Scurry family and married Waters. My ancestor Isaac Waters is from Pitt Co., NC., Catherine Johnson is my great grandmother. On the Waters side, my ancestors goes back to a John Waters. I will greatly appreciate any information that you may have to help shed some light on this for me. Because I don't know anything about this family other than they were born in GA. Thank you very much.
