April 4, 1843, SC father: James Leopard, SC mother: JANNIE RHODEN, SC d. June 10, 1927, Colemans twp #5, Saluda Co, SC cause: senile debility informant: Charlie Leopard, Chappells, SC buried: Good Hope UT: Mrs. R. L. Ramey & son, Saluda, SC You also stated that his parents died in Macon Co, NC. What do you make of the name of the mother? Could James have been married twice? Or Jane have been married to an Etheridge or a Rhoden before her marriage to James William Leopard?? She was married before 1845, so there is no census records of her with her parents. She would have been ca 15 at the time of the marriage, if the first child. Julia Ann Leopard age 4 in 1850 was born is her child. Not much time for another marriage. Julia is older than Benjamin per census records, and he was born in 1843 per DC, so that makes her even younger.
