I found these records and thought I would share; the name of this MATTHEWS person has a familiar ring. Audrey Source: Passports of Southeastern Pioneers, 1770-1823 - Georgia Passports "Executive Department Wednesday 17th October 1810 On application ORDERED That passports be prepared for the following persons to travel through the Creek Nation of Indians, to wit, one for Mr. Joseph BELL with his wife and five children from Beaufort District, South Carolina - One for Messrs. Leonard SCOTT, and Aaron CLARK and also *BUDCAID MATHEWS from Edgefield District, South Carolina, and one for Messrs. John ROBERTS and Christopher DYESS from the county of Twiggs in this State which were presented and signed." I give to my son, Micajah MATTHEW $200 in trust for the use, maintenance & support of my dtr. Libby SAWYER on conditions that she does not return to live with her husband John SAWYER. If she does return to her husband, my will is that the said sum or what is left to be put in the hands of my executor to be equally divided among my other children.I give to my grandsons Larkin & Joel the sons of my son, Isaac MATTHEWS (sic), dec'd when they arrive at full age to have a horse, saddle & bridle each.I give to the dtrs. Of my son, Isaac, dec'd Harriett & Mary & Nancy (MATTHEWS) when they are of age to marry to each a cow & calf.I give all the rest of my estate my children Viz: Micajah, Moses, nancy & Henry & their heirs forever.After my death I desire my executor to appoint three impartial ment to divide the property into four equal shares and the last named children to each take a share.
