    3. I am cleaning up...... you should see my "office".... As I do so, I am finally getting to some of the marked items in several Quills that I In the May/June 2006, p. 63, the obit of John Allen Lott, 86 yrs old , was published in the Edgefield Advertiser Sept 20, 1893. I am trying to place this John Allen Lott, as I have several in my files. Obit reads: "Mr. John Allen Lott - "Uncle Allen" - died on Saturday morning last, under the roof or Wm. Lott, Esq. - a kindly roof that had sheltered the old gentleman for 14 years. "Uncle Allen" was the last of his generation - the last generation of Lotts all of whom were honored and beloved by their fellow men. Before the war we remember "Squire" Allen Lott as a popular Magistrate for Ward best. He was in his 86th year. This would make his birth ca 1807. I did not find a cem listing in the cem. records that I have available to me. I did find the following census listing that might be this John A. CENSUS: 1870 Edgefield Co, SC, Spring Grove township, Lotts PO, p. 500B, HH 444/480 Allen Lott, M W 62, Farm laborer, $500/0 SC America Cullum, F W 16, SC America later married Emory Hanson Rhoden. I do not know the relationships here. Can anyone help me to place this John A. Lott into his family? Did he marry? Please give source to support your conclusions.
