Greetings, list. My wife and I are headed to Edgefield in a couple of weeks and we would like some advice about the best places to do genealogy. There seem to be several candidates; the Tompkins Library, the Edgefield County Public Library and the Edgefield County Historical Society. Then there is the Edgefield Oakley Park Museum � and the ABBE Regional Library System, with an address in Aiken, and the Genealogical Society with a PO box. And, of course, the Courthouse. We found addresses and phone numbers for all these places on the Rootsweb sites. But the contact info alone does not help us plan our trip. Can someone suggest the best places to go to find data of different types ?? We are looking for all kinds of data; family files, birth, death, marriage, wills, obits, military records, land records, plat maps, etc. Thanks in advance, Pat & Dick Folkerth Dallas, Texas
