Edgefield Co., SC,Deed Book 5, 133-134. 1 Dec 1790: Bill of Robert LEVERET, Sr, of Edgefield Co, SC to Hezekiah GENTRY, Sr for 150 pounds, sold two Negro boys named Jack & Sam. Likewise one Negro woman named Jude...the boys forever to him & the woman during the said LEVERET'S natural life with all stock & household furniture & C. MARTIN, Nathan MELTON, who swore by oath 23 Aug 1791 before Russell WILSON, J. P. Rcd. 23 Aug 1791." Of course there are so many Hezekiah's that connecting the right one is chancy, but the only one I have in Edgefield Dist at that time, old enough to be on the deed is the following.
