The following obit was published Sat., April 7, 2007, The State, Columbia, SC Perry Ransom Bledsoe SALUDA - A Memorial Service for Mr. Perry Ransom Bledsoe, age, 92, will be held Easter Sunday, April, 2007, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church at 4 pm with Rev. Lawrence W. Carrigan and Rev. Vernon 0. Anderson officiating. The service will also include Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at the church at 3 pm prior to the 4 pm service. Memorials may be made to Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 632 Rocky Creek Road, Johnston, SC 29832. Bland Funeral Home of Johnston is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bledsoe, a native of Saluda County, died Good Friday, April 6, 2007 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. He was the youngest son of the late John Berryman and Cora Elizabeth Padgett Bledsoe and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a lifelong farner and in 1986 received the Commercial Producer of the Year of Beef Cattle of the Saluda Cattleman's Association sponsored by Clemson University Extension. He was a member of Travis Masonic Lodge #241 of Saluda, a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and had taught Sunday School. Survivors include his wife: Bennie Mae Turner Bledsoe; three daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Vernon Anderson, Laurens; Cora Elizabeth and Wade Murdaugh, Leesville; Dora Mae "Dolly" and Dr. Forest Evans, Bishopville; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with twins expected in mid-July. The family is deeply appreciative of the care provided by Drs. Raymond Bynoe, Steve Sann, and Forest Luke Evans (a grandson), the surgical trauma team of Palmetto Health Richland and also grateful to the Saluda County EMS team.
