Found this loose on my desk and don't know if I ever sent it. I was able to attach him to a family and enter the data based on him being the brother of Thelma Powell Rodgers who I had in my file, but without parents. But there might be a different Thelma, so I would appreciate confirmation of the outline I have placed below the obit. Obit of Arthur David Powell, published April 1, 2007, The State, Columbia, SC LANGLEY - Entered into rest on Friday, March 30, 2007, Mr. Arthur David Powell, 87, of 155 Chaffee Street, Langley, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Louise P. Powell. Surviving are two sons, Marvin Powell, Batesburg, SC, and Wayne Powell, Greenwood, SC; four daughters, Donna Smith, Langley,,SC, Eleanor "Pat" Newell, W. Columbia, SC, Jeanette Davis, Langley, SC and Rhonda Jensen, Graniteville, SC; three sisters, Louise Blackwell and Elizabeth Rodgers, both of Saluda, SC, and Thelma Rodgers, Edgefield, SC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Powell was born in Saluda, SC, to the late John Singleton and Annie Morris Powell. He had retired from Graniteville Company and he was a member of Langley United Methodist Church and the Young at Heart Senior Group. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
