QUESTION: I have a George Herman Dowd, Jr. md Edith Day 1925 - 2005 [She married three times and her obit names her as Mrs. Edith Day Dowd Rhoden Padgett. I posted it at an earlier date. I am wondering if the Gordon S. Dowd whose obit is given below is the brother of the George Herman Dowd, Jr. of my files, and now I have found his parents? Note it lists a brother George Herman Dowd in the last paragraph as having preceeded his brother Gordon. Anyone know for sure? Mickey was an active and dedicated member of St. David Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lutheran Men's organization, the Young at Heart Group and the David's Sunday school Class. Mr. Dowd served on the Evangelism committee and as the co-chair of the Usher Committee. He previously served as a member of the Church Council. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 50 years, Ann Walton Dowd of West Columbia, are sons and daughter-in-law, Gordon Stanley Dowd, Jr. and his wife, Christine Dowd, of Columbia, Russell Brent Dowd of Collierville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, James Keller and Joanne Dowd of West Columbia; grandchildren, Jenna Elizabeth, William Adam, Zachary Scott, Megan Christine and Cassidy Elena Dowd.
