Powell who married Ida Cushing and is buried in Graniteville. He is Mattie's brother. 1926 - Death Cert. #5752, Graniteville, Aiken Co, SC William G. Powell Male, White, night watchman, md b. Nov 2, 1854, SC father: Abram Powell, SC mother: Mary Odum, SC d. April 4, 1926, Graniteville, Gregg tsp, Aiken co, SC cause: Cerebral Hemorrhage informant: Mrs. Ida Powell buried: Graniteville UT: Couch & Timmerman. Birth date cannot be correct - born after sister Mattie b. 1854. The following cem. records places his birth in 1855, which agrees with census data as a child in the hh of Abram and Mary Odum Powell. I have combined month and day with the 1855 year that shows on census and cem. records for his "unofficial" birthdate. The only cem. record that looks promising because of the Ida Powell involved is the following, however, the dates of cem. are off quite a bit: [Information from HC Ouzts & Graniteville Cem Book.] Herbert W. Powell is his brother. Powell, Herbert W. Jun 17 1857 - Apr 12 1929 Powell, Ida YONN Dec 9 1860 - Mar 11 1941 Faulkner, Melzero 1898 -1949 Powell, William G. 1855 - 1928 Powell, Ida B. 1869 - 1943 Wife is Ida B.
