Can anyone on this list tell me if there was a brand book kept for Edgefield Co, S.C. where the men register they Brands , for the years of 1798 till???? I am speaking of brands that was used on cattle and hogs. So I assume they run wild in the woods, and they were marked or branded to keep them from getting mixed up with other people livestock.
