    3. List Members, I am still trying to unscramble Hatcher family connections in Edgefield District/Country, South Carolina to determine the identity and parents of one of my 2-great grandmothers, Frances/Fannie _?_ b.c.1842 d.c. 1876-1878 married James Whitlock, Jr. c. 1864-5. She was living in the household of Alfred Hatcher b. c. 1800 d.c. 1868 on the 1850 and 1860 census yet equity court suits over Alfred Hatcher's land claim that Alfred Hatcher had NO children. If Alfred Hatcher had no children then who were all of these people living in the same household with him and what was their relationship to each other if any??? How were the Swearingen and Kirkland families connected to Alfred Hatcher? Two unverfiable sources claim that Alfred married a FrAnces Swearingen (maiden name or widow???). One source gives year as 1821 and the other gives date of early 1840's. Kirklands were living with Alfred in 1850 and 1860. I was prompted to post again to the Hatcher list by the following tidbit from the Edgefield County, South Carolina list by someone who was researching the Hardiman Homes(Holmes, etc.)who was having his land sold by JEREMIAH HATCHER who was Sheriff of Edgefield District, South Carolina. Districts became counties in South Carolina after the Civil War. I have this Jeremiah Hatcher as being born somewhere between c. 1750-1781 d. after 1820 as a brother of Benjamin Hatcher Rev. Sol d. c. Nov 1781 South Carolina who married Lucy _?_. Benjamin and Lucy _?_ are the ancestors of most of the Edgefield Hatchers. Is this relationship correct?
