    2. Lee and Billie Jones
    3. Glad to send the ones that match up with folks in my files. It adds to my information as well. Thank you for getting DC # like you did for Ephraim, as it saves me so much time. Billie --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1917 - Death Cert. #3022 Newberry Co, SC Rhoda Anna Leopard Female, White, md b. July 1871, Edgefield, SC father: Thos. Butler, Edgefield Co, SC mother: Alsey Burnett, Edgefield Co, SC d. Feb. 4, 1917, Newberry Co, SC cause: chronic myocarditis informant: E. Leopard, Newberry, SC buried: West End Cem., [Newberry Co, SC] UT: R. Leavell & son, Newberry, SC Nothing in the Newberry Cem. Book mentions her being the wife of Ephraim Leopard. She is listed in order with him, as is anInfant d/o D. P. and Cleo Leopard 10/18/1916 - 10/19/1916 and James John Leopard 12-9-1896 - 9/1/1918 who per census records seems to be a son of Ephraim. Since she is buried with Ephriam Leopard in the West End Cem., Newberry Co, SC, I am presuming that she is Rodianna Leopard of the 1900 census wife of Ephraim Leopard, who is probably the informant on her death cert. The 1900 Saluda Co. census says md. 11 yrs (ca 1889). ----------------------------------------------------- 1936 - Death Cert. #2996, Saluda Co, SC Ephraim Leopard Male, white, md. Farmer, spouse: Mrs. Sallie Leopard b. Feb. 25, 1867, SC father: Ben D. Leopard, SC mother: Mary Leopard, SC d. Jan 13, 1936, Coleman's, Saluda Co, SC cause: cerebral hemorrhage buried: Newberry, SC informant: D. P. Leopard, Newberry, SC UT: James R. Leavell. I found Ephraim buried in the West End Cem., Newberry Co, SC along with the following:[Newberry Co. Cemeteries, VII, 1985, Newberry Historical Society.] Ephraim Leopard Feb. 26, 1869 - Jan 13, 1936 Rhoda A. Leopard July 31, 1869 - Feb 4, 1917 Infant d/o D. P. & Cleo Leopard Oct 18, 1916 - Oct 19, 1916 James John Leopard Dec. 9. 1896 - Sept 1, 1918 You stated they were buried at Rosemont? Is West End a part of Rosemont?? I am not that familiar with Newberry cemeteries. Rosemont I have heard of as one of my daughter's in law has family buried there. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1946 - Death Cert #8346 Greenwood Co, SC Mrs. Sallie Watson Leopard Female, White, widow Resided: (803/303) Lindsey St. b. Oct 20, 1872, Edgefield Co, SC father: Charles (Hart), Edgefield Co, SC mother: (Amanda Rauton), Edgefield Co, SC d. July 7, 1946, Greenwood, Greenwood Co, SC cause: cerebral hemorrhage informant: Eva (Williams), Greenwood, SC buried: (Good Hope B. Cy) UT: (Blyth's, Greenwood, SC) Some of the info. was difficult to read, but being familiar with the area and names, I am 99.9% sure that it is correct, except for the house #. Can't verify that. Her cem. records transcribed in the Good Hope Cem, has her date of birth as 187[4]. Evidently it was difficult to read. I am therefore using the date on the death certificate of 1872. Sally Hart married 1) Allen Watson 2) Ephraim Leopard. She had children by Allen Watson, but I don't have any by Ephraim Leopard, and I don't know when they married. Have requested some help with the 1930 census, as I cannot get that one from home. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 1946 - Death Cert. #9948, Saluda Co, SC Mrs. Susie Savannah Leopard Female, White, widow Resided Ninety Six RFD#1, Saluda Co, SC b. Oct 20, 1872, Saluda Co, SC* father: Pinkney Butler, Greenwood Co, SC* mother: Rose Waites, Saluda Co, SC* d. May 30, 1946, Ninety Six, SC RFD#1, Saluda Co, SC cause: chr. __ nephritis informant: Mrs. James Ira Leopard buried: Good Hope UT: Blyth's Services, Greenwood, SC Trying to place this one with her parents. She is the wife of James Johnson Leopard, son of Hettie A. 'Shady' Butler & Benjamin D. Leopard. She and her husband are buried in Good Hope Baptist church cem, Saluda Co, SC. Leopard, James Johnson Aug 23 1866 - Mar 12 1930 Leopard, Susie Savannah Oct 25 1866 - May 30 1946 Leopard, J. Ira Jul 21 1889 - Sep 13 1959 Leopard, Eala N. Aug 31 1893 - Jan 24 1984 I have worked from several directions, trying to figure out where she belongs, and I have come to the conclusion that she is the Bunah Butler listed as the oldest daughter in the HH of James Pickney Butler and Rhoda Susan Waits in the 1880 Census: Edgefield Co, SC, Cooper township, p. 133D, age 12. [Source: FHL Film 1255228 National Archives Film T9-1228] They had a son James Ira Butler, and note the informant on her death cert. was Mrs. James Ira Leopard and he and possibly his wife are buried with Susie and James Leopard at Good Hope. Now I am not sure again..... trying to find Susie Savannah in 1870 as a 2 year old, the Pinkney I thought was her father was age 21 and still in the hh of his father in 1870??? Randall Frye sent the following several years ago regarding his "Uncle Pinkney" From 1920 Saluda County Court records we find the estate of James Pinckney Butler who my grandmother (Katie Waites Frye 1906-2002) recalled visiting when he was ill just prior to his death. Heirs listed are: Wife-Nancy (Nancy Ann "Nannie" Waits) [2nd wife?] Children-Bettie and Fannie Sister-in-law-Jessie Rotton *Susan Leopard, Rachel Morse, Iry (Ira) Butler, Mattie Butler, Mary Bulter, Julia Bulter, Ned Butler, Alvin Butler and Clara Row. (I assume that some of the above might be children by Rhody Waits and some by the second marriage to Nancy Ann Waits) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Randy, I also have Carrie Leopard Burnett's DC and comments as follows: 1944 - Death Certificate # 16675, Saluda Co, SC Mrs. Carrie Burnett White, Female, housewife, married to Butler Burnett b. Oct 18, 1876, SC father: Ben Leopard, SC mother: Miss Hettie Butler, SC d. July 27, 1944, Saluda Co, SC cause: Cardio renal disease informant: Butler Burnett, Saluda SC [RFD] buried: Good Hope UT: Ramey Funeral Home, Saluda, SC Good Hope Cem. Records from HC Ouzts gives the same information. She is buried beside her husband Butler Burnett and a Claude Burnett Sep 12, 1904 - Dec 26, 1931, possibly a son. The obituary of her daughter Dyzree Burnett Butler, d. March 13, 2004, Aiken Co., SC as sent to me by Dr. Connie McNeill names her Carrie Lee Leopard Burnett. No mention of the middle name Elizabeth, which is on her tombstone but not in the obit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
