Hi Vivian, There were two Annamariah women - one a daughter of the other. Annamariah Gooch married Joseph Minter first and John Williams second. Annamariah and Joseph Minter had a daughter Annamariah Minter who married John Terry. Annamariah Sr. died ca. 1802. Annamariah Jr. died in 1843. You asked about proof of the Gooch surname for Annamariah. In John Williams will, he names his brother-in-law Joseph Gouge, brother of his wife Annamariah. I haven't researched these families in a long time but would be glad to share with you any data that I have. Worse: three of them! William Minter's minor son Mackerness Minter was placed under the guardianship of Peter Morgan, husband of William Minter's other (surviving) heir Annamariah Minter. In 1798, Mackerness Minter and Peter & Annamariah Minter Morgan sold their inheritance to John Elam, husband of Joseph Minter's daughter Mary. Could it be Joseph's WIDOW who married to John Terry perhaps... as opposed to his daughter? I am just speculating. I don't have enough data here to make that determination and hoping that you do. The timing of Joseph Minter's death would seem to be appropriate based on the time info given for John Terry's marriage and the births of his children. Do you by chance have a source for the GOOCH name. In other words could she perhaps be the wife of John Terry and the WIDOW of Joseph Minter? Note that in the following Rowland GOOCH is appointed Administrator. Was Annamariah married 1st to GOOCH, 2nd to Minter and 3rdly to TERRY maybe??? or was Gooch perhaps her maiden name. I have not done anything on the Gooch line, so anything would be appreciated. From the following it is clear that Joseph had both a wife and a daughter named Annamaria... but the date of his death seems appropriate for it to be his widow who married John Terry... Joseph Minter made a will in 1787. His son John by this time was surely an adult since JOHN, his son, along with GOOCH were the requested executors... so I would assume that his daughter was also an adult...Do you have anything to distinguish whether John Terry married the mother Annamaria or the daughter Annamaria?
Thanks Harriett. It made me look back at them, and found more info. that included a Holmes for Kathy Wilcox. Am sending that in another message.
