Billie Jones Obituary of George Croft Craig Jr., "THE STATE", Columbia, SC, Nov 1, 2006 COLUMBIA - A graveside service with Masonic rites for George Croft Craig Jr. will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Brazell, Blair Craig, Michael Andrews, Philip Peeples, Donald Andrews, Ron Andrews, and Rick Kinney. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Born September 10,1927, in Augusta, Ga., he was a son of the late George Croft Craig Sr. and Ruth Clary Craig. He was employed with Georgia Vitrified Brick and Clay Company for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Craig was a member of East-minster Presbyterian Church, Rich-land Masonic Lodge #39 and Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Andrews Craig; son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. William B. Craig, U.S.A.F. (Ret.), and Carolyn Craig of Warner Robins, Ga.; daughter, Susan R. Craig of White Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Joan Craig of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri C. and Steve Strickland of Murrells Inlet; five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
