The following obit is of interest to me as a Prescott researcher. This was published today, Nov. 24, 2006 in "The State", Columbia, Richland Co, SC. There are connections in this family to my Father's Smith line in Augusta, GA, and to my mother's Lines in Old Edgefield Dist, SC. Mary Mitchell Prescott NORTH AUGUSTA - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Mitchell Prescott, 82, of North Augusta, SC, who died November 21, 2006, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Dr. Paul Noe officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Prescott was a native of Augusta, having made North Augusta her home for the past 58 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta and wife of the late Mr. Woodrow Wilson Prescott. Survivors include two sons, Harry Prescott, North Augusta and Philip "Buzz" Prescott, Columbia; a daughter, Judy Lepard, North Augusta; a brother, James Mitchell, Augusta; a sister, Juanita Morris, Evans, GA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steven Prescott, Michael Prescott, Chris Lepard, Greg Lepard, Philip Prescott Jr., Moffatt Prescott and Richards Prescott. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 6 to 8. The family will be at the residence of Judy Prescott Lepard, 1748 Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, SC.
