On page 11 the following information is cited about an Ansel Sawyer. "Ansel Sawyer, an immigrant from Charleston District, SC was a prominent pioneer citizen and the first person to be buried at Walnut Creek Cemetery, a very old community of the county. He was born in Edgefield, SC., 20 Aug 1789, died 1 Jun 1855. He came to Chilton Co., about 1820. Burt Sawyer, a brother, entered land in what is now Friendship Community near Clanton; he later moved to Shelby County." Can some one please tell me about this Sawyer family?
