Maybe he made out the a new one when his wife was expecting a child, or maybe Margarite is a new wife, altho Peggy could be a nickname for that as it is for Margaret.???? SC, Edgefield Dist: Know all men by their presents that we Benjamin Roper, Samuel Roper & Jacob Earnest was at the house of William Roper on the 21st July 1810 and heard him declare these words to be his last will and desire (that is to say) I give unto my Beloved companion, Margarite Roper all my property both real and personal after she has discharged my legal debts as long as she continueth single, and in case she marry's again, for her to have all the property which she had when I married her and one third of all my property & the balance to the child which she is now pregnant with, to be sold & the money to be put out at interest.
