As many of you know, a group of about 20 of the descendants of Samuel and Martha-Jefferson Bell Walker of Revolutionary times in Edgefield, SC, have been working on a family history and fully-documented family tree for the Walkers through their great grandchildren. Our publication due date is late March of 2007. The Walkers and their in-laws and other closely related families (Allen, Bealle, Beams, Bell, Branch, Caldwell, Couch, Driskel, Easter, Eddins, Farrell, Farrow, Garrett, Halley, Hart, Hicks, Holloway, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Mays, Mayson, McCracken, McGee, McKinney, Miller, Mitchell, Nobles, Pfifer, Shivers, Simms, Smith, Stith, Talbot, Todd, Tucker, Turner, Walker, Williamson, Wise, Wright, and Wynne) moved on to Limestone County, AL, in the 1820s where Samuel Walker, Jr., became Speaker of the Alabama House in 1841. The Eddins line were among the earliest settlers in Tuscaloosa and the Easters were early in Limestone County, AL. Some of the family then moved on to Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas.
