My ancestor Alexander Oden live in Edgefield, South Carolina from about 1770 to just before 1820. He is mentioned in the book, South Carolina Roster on page 738, and in another book of Revolutionary War Patriots from South Carolina. Roster says, "He served in the militia before and after the fall of Charleston. A.A.5602; T593." A previous researcher supposedly found a pension application written by his widow that stated he was born in Frederick, Maryland in 1752. Another researcher recently looked for this application among the pension records in the National Archives and found nothing. In the 1830's when this application was supposedly made the Odens lived in Autauga County, Alabama. Would this mythical pension application have been made to South Carolina, or to Alabama? If it was made to South Carolina, can someone please tell me if those records can be accessed on-line. Thanks, Marleen Van Horne
