Has anyone on this board ever heard of a book called The Family of John Thomas Moseley. The Gentleman that wrote this book lives in California. If by any chance someone knows of him would they pass my message on to him. He once gave this book to Vida Pearl Mosley from Madisonville, Texas who is now dead. I am told he has the complette line proven for My William Moseley who married Judith Cheatham. Thanks Annette Ditto sthang11@aol.com
I don't have a great deal of information, but am glad to share what I have. I know there were Watsons and Odums in the Cloud Creek area of Edgefield where I am researching Warrens. Mary may be the daughter of John Watson who died 1788. I have seen Jacob & William Odum in the 1790 census records and William on land transactions with Warrens. As I continue to research in this area, I'll watch for your couple. Billie, Don't know if this is the correct one or not, but I have an Ellen R. Forrest, born 12 June 1890 in Edgefield or Saluda Co, daughter of William Thomas Forrest and Lucinda E. Turner. Did not have a marriage for her, but this could fit. Annette, There is an index of the new material found at the courthouse. The new material was supposed to have been ready in August but I haven't heard if it is ready or has been released yet. The index is for sale at OEDGS for, I believe, $40 or $45. I have the index and can look it up for you. The index doesn't tell a lot, name, year, sometimes type of document and name filed under if it is other than the look up name. There is a family tree on Ancestry with a William Mosely, born abt 1795, that married a Judy Cheatham. We have a thunderstorm coming in fast so I need to turn off the computer now but will be glad to look up the names of the parents on the tree (sent in by users) if you want. Brenda
Does anyone know if the records found at the court house have been completed yet? How do we find out what was found in those papers? Were they any marriage bonds or a book that listed marriage bonds. I am still looking for the parents of William Moseley who married Judy Cheatham. Planning to go see my daughter who lives near Edgefield. Was wondering if the documents found have been sent back to the library or a list of what was found. Hoping to get a clue of who William born about 1792 parents could be. Annette

George Gregory married Sarah (unknown) in early 1792 in Edgefield Co., SC. It is thought by some that as a general rule, women usually married someone within about a five-mile radius. George Gregory obtained land on Big Horse Creek, waters of the Savannah River in 1792. His adjoining neighbors were Nappers, Hirndons, Swearingins and Holsonbacks, along with the Fudges. I am searching for the maiden name of George's wife, Sarah. If anone has any information, or I would appreciate some suggestions. All help would be appreciated. It would not surprise me to find that he married a German girl as George having been born in PA in a German settlement could only read and write in the German language. Thanks for any help.
