The Benjamin Franklin Rushton mentioned in the Obituary is the son of John R and Jemimia Adams Rushton. He was born in 1859 and died in 1934. I have him listed as a III to keep them straight. The Benjamin Franklin Rushton, Jr who married Mary Cadell Smith was born in 1851 and died in 1928, He was the son of Benjamin Rushton, Sr and Harriet Eidson. James R Rushton and Benjamin Rushton, Jr were brothers and both were sons of Benjamin Franklin Rushtonm Sr and Harriet Edison. 1. Re: Misc Death certificates - Old Edgefield Dist area of SC - MUNDY
    2. d h deci
    3. Good Morning! I am looking for death information, wills and/or graves of any Mundy/Monday/Munday that may have died between 1800 and 1820. It appears that Reuben Munday/Mundy was head of household in the Edgefield Co. 1810 Census. The known children of Reuben are accounted for in the census, however, there are other people who are there. Also, there are people who could not be his offspring - possible siblings, due to age in the household. I am not 100% that this is indeed the Reuben I have been looking for but it is a start. So I now need to see if there is evidence of any Mundys that may have died that I am unaware of, possible first wife and father with proof of a connection. Any help would be appreciated. 1. SC Genealogical Society Workshop, July 9-10, Columbia, SC
    2. We are really excited about this year's Workshop, including events related to the meeting. View the basics at http://www.scgen.org/ and feel free to contact the workshop registrar if you are interested in attending the workshop. Remember, you don't have to be a member of SCGS to attend and participate. Some of the recent news about this Summer's Workshop include: - People are cleaning the attics and bringing heirlooms to the "Treasures" session. This is open to the public and the experts will be at the table. Textiles, photos, currency -- you name it -- all sorts of great things will be assessed by experts and advice given on how to preserve them for the future. - The SC Archives is doing a special display on SC genealogy and history. As always, the partnership includes a chance to do research on Saturday during Workshop breaks. (And our breaks last more than 10 minutes.) - Genealogy volunteers will get an opportunity to hone their skills and see how to put on sessions that capture the interest of beginners and experienced family historians. Most of all, there will be ample time for everyone to see if they can find a cousin in the crowd or develop a working relationship with someone who has a common interest. Whether it's cemetery preservation or documenting the migration of families to/from SC, you'll find someone who thinks and feels just like you at this year's Workshop. Finally, SCGS added a few sessions that can help many local organizations develop partnerships for the future. The Roundtables are being organized that can help SCGS and others develop minority outreach programs or special events and activities. Hope to see you in Columbia. If you can't attend, give a loved one a registration and ask them to attend. After all, this is a great way to get family members interested and involved (and appreciative) of the work that clutters our basements and desks. (And we apologize if this is a duplicate notice arriving in your mailbox.) ReneeBB SCGS Volunteer

    3. Thanks Connie, Yes, I had the cem. records, but just did not know how to attach them. There are two others there: Dixie Trotter and R. H.Trotter, Jr. All are probably the children of Rufus H. Trotter and Myrtle Bartley. But was trying to get some additional proof. I have gotten the DC for Dixie, copied below and comments on the children: 1935 - Death Cert. #20332, Saluda Co, SC Dixie Trotter Female, White, Single b. Records of HC Ouzts list her buried at Good Hope Lutheran Church, Saluda Co, SC???? I wrote to Betty Trotter who is a researcher of this line and she replied: "Richland Springs Baptist Church is in Saluda Co., but there's no listing in the Saluda Co. cemetery book for Dixie Trotter there. According to the cem. bk., there is a marker for her at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Saluda Co., next to R. H. Trotter Jr., [evidentally s/o Rufus]. There are also markers next to her for two other Trotter babies, Mary Anie [30 June 1922 - 26 Aug 1922] and Elmina [13 July 1920-13 July 1920]. All four are probably children of Rufus and Myrtle.
