DILLON — James Franklin Bailey, 74, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. He was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Bill and Monnie Sue Hood Bailey. He retired from the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He also retired as a truck driver and continued to drive for AVIS of Florence. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a grandson, James R. Bailey and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, Lottie E. Bailey of the home; son, Clifford (Kriss) Bailey of Florence; grandchildren, David (Melanie) Tolar of Charlotte, Jessica Lawless of Hawaii, Kalee Tolar and Amber Bailey, both of Florence; great-grandson, Kawe and Ayden; stepmother, Marie Bailey of Dillon; sisters, Helen (Carl) Brooks of West Columbia and Frances (Cecil) Tyler of Dillon; several nieces and nephews; and many loyal neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Dillon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
