FLORENCE — Laura Craft, 74, formerly of Elizabeth, N.J., died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at her residence. Born Lyda Laura Jeney in Elizabeth on Nov. 5, 1932, Mrs. Craft was the daughter of the late John Jeney and Lyda (Peacock) Jeney. She graduated from Battin High School in 1949 and Elizabeth General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951, where she became a registered nurse. She dedicated her career to geriatric nursing and retired from the Florence Convalescence Center, where she was the director of nursing services in 1999. She celebrated 21 years of marriage with her husband, D.P. Craft, on Dec. 5, 2006. Survivors include her loyal and loving husband of Florence; two sons, Orhan Muran of New Jersey and John E. Ford of Rugby, N.D.; and a daughter, Jacqueline (Ford)DeCunzo of Glens Falls, N.Y. Mrs. Craft also was lucky to have five loving stepchildren, Margaret Elaine Craft of Florence, Jeffery Dean Craft of Edinboro, Pa., Tanya Jean Craft of Dillon, D.P. Blink Craft of Utica, Pa., and Keokee Sis Craft of Seneca, Pa. She also is survived by several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and cousins. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Mizpah Baptist Church, 233 N. Price Road, Florence. Donations in memory of Mrs. Craft may be made to Mizpah Baptist Church.
