FLORENCE — Mrs. Myrtle Douglas Brewer, 67, died Monday, March 5, 2007, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kannadays FuneralHome in Dillon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Dillon Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, directed by Kannadays Funeral Home of Dillon. Mrs. Brewer was born Aug. 27, 1939, in McColl a daughter of the late Rev. John Stephen Douglas and the late Maude Mishue Douglas. She attended the Dillon public school system, and with her husband, Paul, owned and operated Brewer Trucking Co. in Dillon. Mrs. Brewer was a member of Dillon Pentecostal Holiness Church and was well-known in the community. Surviving Mrs. Brewer are son, Stephen Beauford Young of Mullins; daughters, Cathy Young Pittman of Hamer and Robin Brewer Sims of Florence; three special nephews, Preston, Wayne and Jerry Douglas; grandchildren, Delia Pittman Newell, Robert Chandler Sims and Douglas Campbell Sims; great-granddaughter, Eva Langley Newell; and brother, Bill Douglas of Dillon. Mrs. Brewer was predeceased by husband, Paul Alexander Brewer, and brother, Roland Douglas.
