Maggie Clark Furnace of Philadelphia, formerly of Mullins, departed this life Friday, March 2, 2007. Funeral services were held March 10, 2007, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Fork, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. John T. Hemingway gave the eulogy. The LarrySmith-Cooper Funeral Home of Mullins was in charge of services. Maggie Clark Furnace was the youngest child of Hezekiah and Catherine Phillips Clark, born Aug. 15, 1930, in DillonCounty. She attended school in Dillon and Marion County. At an early age she joined Shiloh United Methodist Church. In the early 1950s, she married the late Cary Furnace Jr. and moved to Marion. In 1972 she moved to Philadelphia. Maggie was preceded in death by her son, Willie C. Clark; her husband; parents; three brothers and two sisters. Her memory will be forever cherished by her brother, J.D. Clark of Mullins; a special sister-in-law, Ethel Gamble of Marion; her godson, Eric Clark of Fayetteville, N.C.; nephews, George Clark, Fork, Levi Clark, Mullins, Wilbert Smith, Latta; nieces, Sarah Mintz, Florence, Carolyn Williamson, Durham, N.C., Dorina Billiups, Marion, Geraldine Blackmon, Mullins, Dorothy Snow, Marion, Katrina Campbell, Fork, Annie Sumpter, Durham, N.C., Barbara Johnson,Ocean City, N.J., Betty Page, Nichols, Shela Genwright, Mullins and Marie Clark, Philadelphia; a brother-in-law, Clyde Furnace, Brooklyn, N.Y.
