    2. DILLON — Services for Joseph Carl Tarte will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church of Gaddys Mill with burial in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Cooper Funeral Home. Mr. Tarte, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, at his daughters residence in Sellers after an illness. Born Sept. 17, 1917, in Marlboro County, he was the son of the late Jim Tarte and Alberta Gibson Tarte. He was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church of Gaddys Mill and was a retired farmer. He was the widower of Lillie A. Tarte. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Teresa (Steve) Willoughby of Nichols, Ann (Rev. Ronnie) Cox of Sellers and Debbie (James) Wilkes of Latta; sons, Rev. Charles Tarte and Valton Tarte, both of Lake View, Wesley Tarte of Fork, Melvin Tarte of Advance, N.C., Billy Ray Tarte of Dillon and Carl Tarte of Cornellia, Ga.; sisters, Irene Clark and Carrie Clark, both of Latta; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Tarte was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Harrelson. Published in the Morning News on 1/4/2007.
