LATTA — Mr. Stephen A. S.A. Berry, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Kannadays Funeral Home in Latta. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Bethesda Southern United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Kannadays Funeral Home. Mr. Berry was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Dillon County, a son of the late James Stafford and Ida Reason Berry. He worked with Dixana Mills for 34 years and was a farmer as well as an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Berry was a graduate of Latta High School and a member of Bethesda Southern Methodist Church where she served as former church president and chairman of the Board of Stewards. Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Gladys Cox Berry of the home; sons, Cecil Collins (Debbie) of Florence, Stephen A. Berry Jr. (Barbara) of Timmonsville, Lenneau Berry (Shelia) of Latta and Bryan Wilson Berry (Angie) of Latta; brother, James Stafford Berry Jr. of Latta; sister, Annie Ruth Hill of Lake View; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Brothers Carlisle, Clifton, Henry, Lenneau and Victor Berry, and daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth Collins, predeceased Mr. Berry.
