    2. DILLON — Brent Thomas Cook, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after an illness. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Dillon County, he was the son of the late Rembert Cook and Selia Stokes Cook. He was a retired carpenter with Daniels Construction, a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and he and his family attended Bermuda Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty T. Cook of Dillon; children, Kenneth Brent (Teresa M.) Cook of Dillon, Debra Cook Williams of Hamer, Wendy Cook (James M., Jr.) Pace of Hamer and Tara Cook of Columbia; brothers, Jack Cook and Rembert Cook Jr., both of Dillon, and Edward Cook of Florence; sisters, Noreta C. Williams and Rosie Merritt, both of High Point, N.C., and Martha Proctor of Dillon; nine grandchildren, Kenneth Brandon Cook, Justin B. Cook, Kasey P. Cook, Candace N. Williamson, Brent Williams, Brittney Simpson, Noah Pace, Brooke Foster Cook and Trever Parker Cook; and two great-grandchildren, A.J. Williamson and Meagan Williamson. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd Cook and James L. Cook; and sisters, Addie Gene Snipes and Elsie Gough. Published in the Morning News on 1/19/2007.
