HAMER — Services for Doris Atkins Calhoun will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, in First Presbyterian Church with burial in Kentyre Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Calhoun, 83, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2007, in Carolinas Hospital System in Florence. Born in Dillon County, Nov. 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William R. Atkins and Ethel McEachern Atkins. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was a retired school teacher. Survivors include her husband, James R.C. Calhoun of Hamer; daughters, Jane Calhoun Wheeler of Hamer, Della Calhoun Dove of Castle Hayne, N.C., Betty Calhoun Hunt of Rowland, N.C., and Ethel Calhoun Lucius of Florence; sons, Richard Calhoun of Hamer, and Patrick Calhoun of Statesboro, Ga.; nephews, Jim and Rhett Atkins; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
