LAKEVIEW — Mrs. Janie Elizabeth Currie, 77, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 13 at Kannadays Funeral Home in Dillon. Funeral services will at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with burial at Riverside Cemetery, directed by Kannadays Funeral Home of Dillon. Mrs. Currie was born March 20, 1928 in Shelby, N.C., a daughter of the late Byron and Fannie Mae Bechtler Davis. She was a retired supervisor caseworker and acting director of Dillon County Social Services, a Furman graduate, and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Currie is survived by her husband, Edward G. Currie, of the home; a daughter, Emilie C. Hamilton and husband Mike of Bennettsville; brothers, Lewis Davis and wife Marion of Kings Mountain, N.C., Gene T. Davis of Shelby, N.C., Paul T. Davis and wife Mary of Shelby, N.C.; and sister, Emily Washburn and husband Wyan of Boiling Springs, N.C.
