MYRTLE BEACH | Barbara Ann Page Leath, 69, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Conway Medical Center. She was born August 14, 1937 in Dillon, the daughter of the late Oscar Franklin and Anne Lucille Faulk Page. Her sister, Patsy Church of Marion predeceased her. Barbara was the co-owner of Normandy Motor Inn, Inc. for 10 years and Coastal Real Estate and Investments for many years. Most of all, she was known as an outstanding educator with a genuine love for learning and teaching others to learn. She graduated from Mullins High School, attended Lander College and the University of South Carolina, earning a BA, M. Ed., and Ed. Specialists degrees. She was a teacher for 38 years in Marion County, Richland County and Horry County Schools. She enjoyed her teaching career and touched hundreds of lives during those years. She loved her students and always went the extra mile for them. Before her retirement Barbara was active in the SCEA and the NEA. She was a former member of Alpha Delta Kappa Soriety and a charter member of Beta Epsilon of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She was known for having a positive outlook on life and for the warmth and kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. All who knew her will truly miss her and will always cherish the memory of her sweet smile and kind nature. Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Leath, of Myrtle Beach; four sons, Charles W. ''Chuck'' Leath and his wife, Nan, of Columbia, Alexander R. ''Lex'' Leath and his wife, Amanda, of Myrtle Beach, Daniel F. ''Danny'' Leath and his wife, Karen, of Surfside and Steven P. Leath of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Jimmy Page of Nichols; a sister, Faye Gates of Columbia; and seven grandchildren, Alexis, Marlow, Alana, Mary Nan, Macie, Marci and Katherine Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Ocean View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Steve Cromer and the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery.
