DILLON — Naomi Covington Alford, 77, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in Carolina Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Born May 2, 1929, in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Covington and Alina McGee Covington. She was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Neil Edward Alford. Survivors include her children, Linda Alford Martin of Dillon, Elaine Alford and fiance Roy Nichols of Hendersonville, N.C., Thomas (Sarah) Alford of Virginia Beach, Va., and Faith (Mark) Mew of Dillon; sisters, Geneva Rhinefield of Laurinburg, N.C., Mary Lou Covington of Cheraw, Dorothy Covington of Hamlet, N.C., and Judy Lowe of Rock Hill; brothers, Frank Covington of Laurinburg, N.C., Harold Covington of Hamlet, N.C., Bill Covington of Statesville, N.C., and Ed Covington of Charlotte, N.C.; sister-in-law, Polly Alford McIntyre of Dillon; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
