DILLON — Services for Vera T. Johnson will be held 3 p.m. Sunday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson, 82, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after a brief illness. Born in Dillon County, Feb. 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James C. Tyler and Rosa Hodges Tyler of Horry County. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, and was retired from Mohawk Industries after 31 years of dedicated service. She was a prior member of Beulah Baptist Church, Ladies Auxiliary, WMU, and she also taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was an avid reader of books, loved travel, music and baking. She was the widow of the late Tillman Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Judith P. Norris of Dillon; sister, Dorothy T. Powers of Dillon; numerous nieces and nephews.
