    2. CLIO, S.C. | Alexander McRae MacDonald, 82, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Born June 17, 1924 in Dillon County, he was a son of the late K.L. and Mary McQueen MacDonald. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in the Phillippines during World War II. Alexander was a retired prominent farmer in Dillon County. He was a member, Deacon and Elder at Carolina Presbyterian Church. He was a Shriner and an avid hunter and he enjoyed raising bird dogs and Tennessee Walking Horses. Alexander was first married to the late Nannie McIntyre MacDonald, who passed away November 13, 1991. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Page MacDonald of Clio; sons, Alexander McRae MacDonald Jr. (Liz) of Atlanta, Ga. and Richard Rhea MacDonald (Janet) of Hilton Head; daughters, Jacquelyn M. Hendrix (Ron) and Sandra M. Adams (Terry), all of Myrtle Beach; brothers, Donald F. MacDonald of Scotland and Robert M. MacDonald of Lakeland, Fla.; a stepson, Douglas Newton (Margaret Ann) of Clio; stepdaughters, Kathy Mowery (Steve) of Kannapolis, N.C. and Patricia McColl of Myrtle Beach; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five step great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2006 at Carolina Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
