Glover, Alvenia FLORENCE -DILLON- Alvenia Booth Glover died at home Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Mrs. Glover was born in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Robert Fulton and Nancy Cordie Nicholson Booth of Dillon and Marion counties. She attended Lake View High School, where she was a member of the basketball team. She had resided in Claussen and Florence for the past 68 years. She was the wife of the late Harry L. Glover. Glover, as she was affectionately known, was employed at Belk for 36 years, and Sears-Roebuck for 10 years prior to her Belk days. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church for some 55 years, where she was treasurer of the Christian Family Sunday School Class. She attended Hopewell Presbyterian Church while residing in Claussen. Mrs. Glover was a very active woman in many birthday clubs, joy singles and bible study groups in the community. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Powell of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Harry L. (Beverly) Glover Jr. of Florence; two sisters, Ona (Aaron) Gaddy of Lake View and Mary Booth of Florence; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, in Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
