Davis, Gladys Elizabeth (Powers) CLIO-DILLON-TIMMONSVILLE-Gladys Elizabeth Powers Davis, 87, of 3502 Alvin Kirby Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Born in Dillon, Mrs. Davis was daughter of the late Louis and Emma Snow Powers. She was a member of the Piney Grove Holiness Church in Sellers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, the Rev. James Monroe Davis; and a son, James Franklin Davis. Surviving are two sons,William Monroe Davis of Fayetteville, N.C., and Dwight David Davis of Pamplico; four daughters, Shirley Davis Larrimore of Latta, Jeanette Nolan of Timmonsville, Linda Custis of Aiken and Jo Ann Davis of Clio; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Piney Grove Holiness Church in Sellers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
