    2. MOULTRIE — Elizabeth Stone Ellis, 84, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. J.E. Moak and Roger Benton officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Adult A Dorcas Sunday School Class and retired educators serving as honorary pallbearers. Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Dillon County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Mandie Nettles Stone and the late Zingle Lee Stone. She was a retired school teacher from Cox Elementary and a member of the Colquitt County Retired Teachers Association. She served in the Army, was a graduate of U of So Carolina, and retired as a teacher in the Colquitt County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. “C.D.” Ellis; brothers, Albert, Raymond, Earl, Ervin, Odie and Roy Stone; and a sister, Pauline Sweat. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Sue Ellis of Moultrie and Amanda Jo Ellis of Griffin, Ga.; a brother, Jimmy Stone of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Mildred Tootsie Howell of Folly Beach, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the family residence, 1008 Fifth Ave. S.E., Moultrie. Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
