DILLON — Johnny O. Moody, 60, died Saturday, December 31, 2005, in the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after an illness. Born in Marion County, SC, July 29, 1945, he was a son of the late Vaughn Moody and Minnie Bowen Moody. He retired as a Lance Corporal with the South Carolina State Highway Patrol, was a former member of the South Carolina Trooper’ s Association, was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard, was a member of East Dillon Baptist Church, the Men’s Brotherhood and a member of the Safety Officers Club. He owned and operated the Huddle House both in Florence and Dillon. He was a graduate of Latta High School. Surviving are his wife, Sherrie Bullard Moody of Dillon; son, Brett Parker Moody of the home; daughters, Traci Denise Moody of the home and Kim Moody Buffkin of Dillon; sister, Vonnie Jackson and husband Ralph of Dillon; grandchildren, Niki Buffkin, Candace Buffkin and Kayla Moody all of Dillon; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Moody was predeceased in death by his son, Jo Jo Moody in 1995. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in East Dillon Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2006 in the funeral home.
