DILLON — Services for Ethel C. Bowen will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowen, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born May 21, 1922, in Dillon County, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Church and Maggie Elvington Church. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was a retired seamstress. She was the widow of Clifford A. Dick Bowen. Survivors include her daughters, Vivian Bethea of Dillon, Dorothy DeBusk of Greentown, Ind., and Bonnie Sawyer of Falkville, Ala.; sons, Wayne Bowen of Dillon and Johnny Bowen of Kingstree; sisters, Kathleen Mullis Greenville, Ruby Lupo of Anderson, Mae Thompson of Timmonsville and Mildred Smith of Benson, N.C.; brother, Sam Church of Fort Pierce, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
