Services for Christine Usher Norton will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 in the Dillon First Baptist Church with burial in McLeod Cemetery in Latta. Visitatation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Norton, 87, died Monday, February 26, 2007 in the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born in Dillon County, February 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Sam Usher and Pearl Pate Usher. She was a member of Dillon First Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and she assisted her husband with farming. She was the widow of the late Bertis Townsend Norton. Survivors include her son, Townsend (Sarah Anne) Norton of Darlington; daughter, Shirley (Robert) Coleman of Latta; sister, Sarah Usher Steele of Myrtle Beach; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her grandson, Edwin Craig Norton; sisters, Lizzie Mae Smith, Minnie Edens, and Mildred Schaefer; and her brothers, Sam Usher, Marion Usher, John C.
