DILLON — Mrs. Peggy Marie Gardner Nichols, 64, of 1304 Chestnut St., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Parkway Baptist Church with the Revs. L.P. Ward and R.B. Ashley officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. A native of Chester, Mrs. Nichols was a daughter of the late John Edward Gardner and Helen Ruth Odell Melton. She was a retired legal secretary for Jack McInnis Law Firm. She was a member of Living Faith Church, Lumberton, N.C., where she was a nursery worker. She was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Anderson College. She was a member of Gideons Auxiliary. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Sam Nichols, is a son, Chris Nichols of Greenville; her stepfather, Edward L. Melton; two sisters, Wanda Roberts and Vickie Fairfax of Chester; and a brother, Eddie Melton of Chester. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Parkway Baptist Church, 823 J.A. Crochran Bypass, Chester, SC 29706. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
