Church, Monroe FLORENCE -LAKE VIEW-Mr. Monroe C. Church, 88, of Florence died Thursday, March 3, 2005, after an illness. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at First Baptist Church of Lake View. The Rev. Tim Cole will be conducting the funeral. Burial will be in Lake View Perpetual Cemetery directed by Cook Funeral Home of Lake View. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Church was born June 28, 1916, in Dillon County the son of the late Charlie Monroe and Georgia Hayes Church. He was a retired farmer and attended Calvary Baptist Church of Dillon. Surviving are five daughters, Elizabeth Cox (Doug), Helen Wallace, Billie Joyce Hayes (Winston), Rose Marie Morse (Wayne) and Gayle Hinds; two sons, Ernest Church (Dorothy) and Roger Church (Jane); five sisters, Olive Self, Elsie Rosenburg, Estell Scott, Nell Parnell (Jim) and Jaxie Rogers (Doug); two brothers, Alton Church (Ophelia) and Jim Church (Bertha); 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Church was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Collins; two sisters, Lummie Dew and Edna Carter; and two brothers, Maxie and David Church.
