    3. Novotny, Louise Wilkes NORTH MYRTLE BEACH-DILLON- Louise Wilkes Novotny, 83, of North Myrtle Beach, died Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2005 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dillon, S.C., a daughter of the late John Wesley and Lula Mae Edwards Wilkes. She grew up in Parkton, N.C. and moved to Michigan, where she married her husband of 44 years, Joe. Louise loved to cook for family and friends and usually included her famous biscuits for all to enjoy. She especially enjoyed planting and nurturing her flower garden, and springtime, when her flowers would begin to bloom. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She loved children and was drawn to the weakest person in the room. Other than her husband, Joseph F. Novotny of North Myrtle Beach, Louise leaves behind her daughter, Susan G. Novotny of North Myrtle Beach; her son, David Steadman III and his wife Janet, of Virginia Beach, Va; a daughter-in-law, Dell Steadman of Haughton, La.; two sisters, Mable Vick of Loris, Josie Goldman of Bannister, Mich.; three sisters-in-law, Rose Novotny, Mary Egres and Mildred Novotny, all of Okemos, Mich.; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Bill C. Steadman; a sister, Sudie Mae, and seven brothers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Paul Wood of Little River United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, Louise requested that contributions be made to Little River UMC, P.O. Box 160, Little River, S.C. 29566, North Strand Helping Hand, 813 St. Charles Road, North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29582, Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, P.O. Box 3369, North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29582, or the charity of one's choice. A special heartfelt thank you to Jackie Park and her family and also to the staff at GSRMC for their many acts of kindness and being there when Louise and her family needed them most.
