Kannaday, Anna C. LATTA-FLORENCE " Anna Elizabeth Campbell Kannaday, 86, of 1218 Berkley Ave., Florence, died early Tuesday morning, March 22, 2005, in a Florence medical facility after an illness. Born in Hopkins, Mrs. Kannaday was a daughter of the late James Allen and Harriet Daniels Campbell. She graduated from the Consolidated High School after which she joined the staff of Belk, becoming manager of the shoe department . She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Florence where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, becoming recipient of Teacher of the Year recognition. She was the first woman elected to the St. Luke Church Council and also served for a decade as parish secretary. She was a member of the Sister Bertha Circle of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ryan Lybrand Kannaday, who died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Wayne Campbell Kannaday and his wife, Helen Doerpinghaus Kannaday, of Columbia and Ryan L. Kannaday Jr. and his wife, Susan McKain Kannaday, of Timmonsville; a grandson, Christopher Ryan Kannaday of Columbia; two step-grandchildren, William Kemper Peel Jr. of Charleston and Aynsley Peel Eastman and her husband, Andy Eastman, of Athens, Ga.; a step-great-grandson, Jack McKain Eastman of Athens, Ga.; a sister, Frances Houser of Columbia; a brother-in-law, Raymond Kannaday and his wife, Carolyn Kannaday, of Latta; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Kannaday Harman of Lexington; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1201 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC 29501. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Luke Lutheran Church in Florence. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery in West Columbia, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence and Kannaday Funeral Home of Latta.
