Services for Marion Henslee "Doc" Ward will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Piney Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mr. Ward, 81, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 in McLeod Medical Center in Dillon. Born in Dillon County, November 30, 1925, he was the son of the late Shafford Ward and Katie Walker Ward. He was a retired Farmer. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Agnes Ward of Dillon; children, Marion Ward, Jr. of Dillon, Cleo Ward of Dillon, Carlyle (Lillie) Ward of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Vera (Jim) Guthrie of Stokesdale, NC, Diane (Glenn) Chestunt of Dillon, Danny (Faye) Ward of Hamer, Ray (Judy) Ward of Sellers, and Ricky Ward of Dillon; sister, Beatrice Herring of Little Rock; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his brother, Vernie Ward; sister, Mary Caulder; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
