DILLON — Melva Muriel Miller, 68, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at her residence after an illness. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in East Dillon Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Born March 30, 1938, in Dillon County, she was the daughter of the late Allen Worth Miller Sr. and Grace Moody Miller. She graduated from Dillon High School in 1954, the University of Biblical Studies, and was a member of East Dillon Baptist Church. She was a waitress and homemaker. Survivors include her children, Lester Worth Cook of Dillon, Marshall Craig (Missy) Cook of Latta, Myra G. (Larry) Owens of Myrtle Beach, Susie C. (John) Lee of Dillon, James Felton Cook of Dillon, James Lester Cook Jr. of Myrtle Beach and Allen W. Miller III of Dillon; sisters, Marilyn Vivian Evans of Abbeville and Margaret Allen of Dillon; and brothers, Ken Miller of Dillon and Gene Miller of Latta. Ms. Miller was preceded in death by her brothers, A.W. Miller and Devon Miller; and sisters, Mary Grace Miller and Mona Lee Skipper. Published in the Morning News on 12/2/2006.
