Services for Earnest Gene Barfield will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday in Dillon Second Baptist Church with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mr. Barfield, 68, died Monday, December 18, 2006 in the Marion County Medical Center. Born in Dillon County, January 22, 1938, he was the son of Gladys Thompson Barfield and the late Ernest Barfield, Sr. He was a member of Dillon Second Baptist Church, and was a retired Truck Driver. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Caulder Barfield of Dillon; son, Tony, and his wife, Brenda Barfield of Golsboro, NC; daughter, Bridgette, and her husband, Carl Mark Daniels of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Britney Ann Barfield, and Biancha Andrea Barfield, Delton Carl Daniels, Brandon Ray Daniels, and Dorothy Brianna Daniels; mother, Gladys Thompson Barfield of Lake View; sisters, Betty Barfield of Lake View, Pat Carter of Myrtle Beach, Nina Campbell of Dillon, Shirley Campbell of Virginia, and Gaynell (Eugene) Barfield of Lake View; brother, William (Libby) Barfield of Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Mark Daniels; and his brother, Perry William Barfield.
